2011 PROMOTION TO SENIOR LIBRARY ASSISTANT PROCEDURES
1 INTRODUCTION
1.1 The grade of Senior Library Assistant (SLA) is the grade established to offer promotional opportunities to Library Assistants.
1.2 The Library has been allocated an indicative number of two SLA posts under the 2011 Promotion Scheme.
1.3 The closing date for applications is 31 August 2011.
2 PROCEDURE
2.1 Job descriptions for the two roles will be available from the Deputy Librarian, on the Library staff intranet and the Library staff notice board on, or before, 30 June 2011.
2.2 The roles are available only to existing NUI Maynooth library staff currently employed at the appropriate grade (Library Assistant).
2.3 Interested candidates should submit a covering letter, curriculum vitae (CV) and the names and email addresses of two referees, by 5pm on Wednesday, 31st August 2011 to promotionschemes@nuim.ie
2.4 Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview in early September 2011.
2.5 The recommendations of the interview board will be submitted to the President, by whom the promotions will be made. Promotions will take effect from 1st of October 2011.
