OBTAINING A PPS NUMBER AND TAX FREE ALLOWANCE CERTIFICATE
Prior to obtaining your Tax Free Allowance Certificate you need to obtain a PPS Number (Personal Public Service Number). To obtain your PPS number please click on the following link:

To obtain your Tax Free Allowance Certificate you need to complete Form 12A and send it to the Income Tax Office. Form 12A can be downloaded at the following link:

You will need to quote your PPS number and the National University of Ireland, Maynooth Registered Number – 9587715A – on Form 12A. On submission of Form 12A, a Tax Free Allowance Certificate should issue from the Income Tax Office directly to the Salaries Office at NUI Maynooth. A copy may also be sent to your home address at your request.
